My Story

I have always loved imagining what the future of fashion might look like! 

In my final years at Central Saint Martins, when Covid brought our lives to a standstill, I was trying to find purpose for my creations. By chance, I came across Vogue’s Met Gala Instagram Challenge. I recreated Cardi B’s iconic Thom Browne gown entirely from red paper. My entry went viral and I got my first interviews from the Met Museum and the BBC. A year later, Vogue ran the Couch Couture challenge and I recreated McQueen’s Horn of Plenty chainmail mask dress using felt and insulation foil. This too became one of the winners with millions of views. 

On both occasions I designed my own looks inspired by the originals. I received thousands of comments which encouraged me to keep designing and creating my own universe. This is how Karina Bond was born - out of love to dream, imagine and create alternate worlds. In every collection I discover and explore a new fantasy and I am thrilled to invite you inside! 

Fashion has always been fast paced, yet the way we make clothes has remained surprisingly unchanged for centuries. I began asking myself: in our rapidly evolving world, how can fashion evolve too?

3D printing opened an entirely new perspective for me. Instead of starting with flat fabric, I can sculpt directly in three dimensions, using the human body as my canvas. It allows me to roam free in my imagination and design not just clothing, but wearable art.

I believe the future of fashion is digital, personalised, and more sustainable. Instead of producing garments in standard sizes and mass quantities, I imagine a future where clothing is created from individual body scans and printed on demand—reducing waste while delivering a truly personal fit.

Every design is a step towards that future. I love experimenting and learning, and each new creation helps me explore what fashion can become.

The 3D-printed bags we offer today are the result of more than a year of development, testing, and refinement, made possible with the incredible help and support of my parents here in London. These bags are the first chapter of a much bigger vision.
